i’m not sure about how my writing is, really, but i figured i’d share something i just wrote.
you are a star, burning above me
you beckon me towards you
your light burns my eyes until my vision goes
i can see only the red of my eyelids, illuminated by your brightness
you pull me close and i catch fire
as you hold me against your chest, your sweet words distract from the searing pain of being burnt alive
and then i’m let go
falling through outer space
flailing my limbs as if i could swim through the darkness back to you
as the fire dies down, i am left alone
singed
and though my skin is raw and peeling
all i want
is to be back in your arms.
i guess i didn’t matter enough to make you stay

Wow, so much emotion in this, kc.
I love the line...’you pull me close and I catch fire.’
