Re: Crazy facts - true or false
I was going to say false because there are biodegradable plastic straws, but then I wasn't sure if a strict definition of plastic would exclude them, and a literal interpretation of still on this planet would make true the only answer since even if they have been composted and are now in a different form they are still present, and I overthought my way right out of answering at all.

Hmm. Plastics do degrade, particularly in the ocean. If it were something like toothbrushes I'd guess the density of the plastic would mean they are likely all still intact and recognisably toothbrushes, but straws are very thin so rather a lot of them are probably floating about in bits poisoning fish and not at all recognisably strawish by now. I'm assuming they need to still be strawish to count as still on the planet. Now I want to find out if any plastic straws have been sent into space. No, Google is cheating.
I'm guessing false.

Just to clarify, Google is cheating for us, because one of us is overly rigid. We have no problem with other people googling for information. We only impose arbitrary rules on us.

I was going to guess true - but you beat me to it
And I love that you view Google as 'cheating' - totally with you on that one

Well Jonesy you would be right but I love how you thought it though Kenazandisaz.
Yes they do degrade over time but takes 200 years so they are still around. Scary to think isn’t it. Also they are the 11th most common item to be pulled or or the ocean. Time to change to reusable or paper straws I think.
Anyway Jonesy your true.
