My Favourite Things

Post by Fleur »

Heard Julie Andrews singing this and thought it might be fun to list some of our favourites - whether activities, objects, possessions, etc etc

Watching the sky -- sunsets, dawns, clouds playing peekaboo with the sun or sparkling rainbows -- and clear frosty nights when celestial bodies seem to shimmer

Poetry that prompts beautiful thoughts, takes me away to places never considered

Films and books that have me giggling or learning or (even better!) both simultaneously

A bright pink blouse that is so comfortable and easy to wear I was very happy to pay to be repaired after last wash caused deterioration

In-depth conversations where everyone respects all views

My most favourite flower is the gardenia but scented roses and carnations are close

Franz Schubert's musical composition dubbed "The Trout". Not only because it is a happy piece, but it was written for friends who played particular instruments - how special is that?

Can’t do it in such a poetic way but some of my favourite things are

Cute little kittens chasing a light.
The smell of new born babies fresh from the bath.
A walk in the woods on a hot summer day where it’s nice and cool.
The smell of fresh baked bread.
My music
My kids
Making cards with my music playing loadly.
