the Patrick Melrose novels

Post by Sherlocked »

One of my friends who is aware of what I’m going through, recommended to me the Patrick Melrose novels by Edward St. Aubyn. I am so happy she recommended them to me and they helped. If they sounds familiar, Showtime did a limited miniseries adaptation of them starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

The Melrose novels, they’re semi autobiographical novels that follow a man on his journey, dealing the aftermath of the CSA he suffered from his father, tuning out reality via drugs and drink as an adult, and eventually the decisions to heal.

I found the books and the miniseries helped me and were cathartic. Even my therapist thought they were helpful.
