The book is Born for Love: Why Empathy is essential and endangered by Bruce D. Perry (2011, William Morrow Paperbacks; co-authored by Maia Szalavitz)
I thought was good is about how people are "wired" for connections with others and as children need to have that bond and if missing will bond to TV and other things. How even the chemicals produced has an effect on bond between people that oxytocin is produced when mother has child but also when people interact and if given to people they are less stressed.
Had studies backed by brain scans. They did study on rats some licked their infants more that reduced their stress and even if put with none licking it still had an effect on the next generation's stress levels. They wanted to know if was environment or genetic.
I guess Disney recalled the Baby Einstein videos since it was harming babies by interacting with them and not other people and how technology is taking away connections that could be harmful.
A infant/child will accept things since the bond is so important.
