Look what your words did, Papa. (TW profanity).

Post by Closeyclo »

Sticks and stones may break my bones.
But your words have lasted a lifetime.
Look what you did, Papa.
So many scars. So much devastation.
Right across my soul.
Words can be magical things.
Transporting us through fantasy worlds dreamt by others.
They can be used to comfort, to reach out.
To make someone in a dark place see the light.
Words are a vehicle for change - I have a dream!
You can weave them into a tapestry so beautiful they could reach millions.
They can save a life.
But you tainted them. You made them cruel.
You turned each word into a weapon, and each sentence into a wound.
You wrote me a story of me, and I believed it.
I believe that I play the antagonist in my own life.
That I am the villain that creeps along the shadows of others.
I see the descriptions you wrote of me when I look in the mirror.
Grotesque, weak, worthless.
I did not know that worthless had a face until you showed me mine.
In the places where "daughter" was written, you blocked it out and wrote "cunt" in its place.
"Frightened child" was replaced with "scum fuck".
And "suicidal and desperate" became "weak and ungrateful".
A tainted narrative, but one etched into my brain.
Printed with indelible ink onto the very fabric of my being.
Look what your words did, Papa.
A champion is defined not by their wins but by how they can recover when they fall.
