ADULT-CHILD-SYNDROME

Post by jimscarlet »

Hi Folks,
I'm new,and hope to get to know you all over time.
I was badly physically abused and unknown to myself was in a
deep-trance-state most of my life. I first started to awaken in the
year 2000, when having counselling for abuse and the woman
mentioned on another matter the phrase "Adult-Child". From that
day on I started to wonder,"No,it couldn't be could it ? No, that's
impossible". But as the days and weeks went into months and
years,I was to find it was indeed true.
Since then,as each veil of
my perception has lifted,I've become more and more awake, and
aware. JESUS! I had no idea there were so many sick people in
the world, and I'm not talking about us ! I've also come to recognise there are many more Adult-Children in society, in fact,
their are THOUSANDS of them, many of whom are NARCISSISTIC,SELF-ABSORBED,LUNATICS! ( sometimes I think
I've bumped into them all over the years). It is one hell of a
phenomenon with different degrees of trance and effects.

Anyway, I have grown a lot since my first dawning, and hope to
grow and heal among you all in future.
Warmest Regards,
jimscarlet.

Hi all,

I know this thread is nearly a decade old, but I just came across it and had to look this 'Adult Child Syndrome' up... and here is a website that I found and read... well, each bullet point is me! Can't believe how accurate it is!
www dot michaelsamsel dot com/Content/Individuals/adult_child_syndrome.html
(I don't know anything about this website or the author, and I am not endorsing anything, I'm sharing purely because the points all look like me, and I thought others may relate.)

Something amusing though... often when I take my son to school and pick him up, you can find me riding his scooter when he is in school. And recently a few of the mums at the school gate or on route refer to me as 'Peter Pan' and comment how much of a kid I am. They often say that I'm more of a child than my son! They only say that because I'll balance and walk along the wall like he does, and I'll ride his scooter pulling manuals and jumping kerbs etc.
But I am a kid at heart!
The other day I was walking with my wife, and a woman yelled across the street to us "Hi Peter Pan... you alright?"

Anyway, just wanted to share this 'Adult Child' thing because I'd not heard of it before.
