Thank you all....been doing a fair amount of reading. Will definitely check out the resources available here....more.

And I find that I miss far too much ( Things like sunrises and sunsets ) when I'm stuck in what I term "Survival mode." I'll be looking for little gems each day......that reinforce my notion that every day is a gift!

It seems that it would be hard to go wrong with Pete Walker's book:

Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving: A Guide and Map for Recovering from Childhood Trauma

I'm reading it right now.

Pete's defining emotional flashbacks was one of the most helpful things I ever learned. Helped me understand what I'd been dealing with my entire life.

You are exactly right!! And I wholeheartedly believe that gaining an understanding of how / why these flashbacks happen......will assist me in managing them better. I'm convinced this will be a work in progress the rest of my life.

I feel very blessed to have found this site. I feel doubly blessed that members cared enough to offer support and reading material suggestions. Priceless things when one feels like they are drowning in fear, anxiety and sadness form the flashbacks.

Glad you are here and that the materials you've laid hold of are helping!

Thanks, BossMustang and everyone,
I bought Pete Walker’s c-PTSD kindle book. Beginning it, I see a lot to address. I also see that my own ‘eclectic’ bag of self-care tricks has been spot on.
Please remember that we survivors have innate mind body intelligence to guide us, and to respond to all effective modes of healing and self-care.
Yay, survivors!
