Responsibility

Post by jimscarlet » Wed Dec 24, 2014 7:06 pm

Just found that blame, anger, etc.,is a CHOICE . . .not my fate.
By taking responsibility for MY feelings,I take back my power
into my own hands.

Hi jimscarlet

I totally LOVE what you wrote.
Much kudos to you.

This is not an easy place to come to, but once we do there is a certain sense of relief.
You are important

Thanks Jonesy,
To compound matters,I was in shop,and guy skipped queue in front of me;
I USUALLY do not allow this,so I made one step towards him to tell him off . . .and thank
God,I stepped BACK again, while saying to self,"It's not important,It's not important."

Then,I'm in another supermarket where woman is blocking whole passage way,and I just
squeezed through not saying a word . . .USUALLY, I would have told her she was blocking
way,and USUALLY afterwards,I would be calling her all sorts of names afterwards, and i would
have ruined my whole day seething with anger! THIS TIME,I did nothing of the kind,in fact,
I made an excuse for her 'she is probably unaware'.

It's not a miracle,but it is a start.

thank you for sharing this. :) i was musing today on how i don't tend to dwell as much anymore, on either worrying terribly or feeling mad at some perceived breaking of 'the rules'. the rules don't really exist. nothing bad is going to happen if 'the rules' aren't followed. this person might just be having a bad day or time. they might be a bit clueless (unaware). they might be horrible! they can be anything, and that's okay, and it doesn't have to affect you. you're not responsible for their behaviour, and their behaviour also isn't directed personally at you.

it took me a long while to just be able to put the space between seeing something happen and my reaction happening. it was longer still to realise that in that space i had a choice of how to act. and so much harder to let it go later, and not keep returning to it.

bravo to you for making the steps you have. :)

Wow! I love the thought. I really admire those people who can put their feelings into words.

Another strand that might help,is,to tell self that whoever it
may be,are simply not as EVOLVED as us,not at our LEVEL.
Further,I have been stunned for a while,at the unbelievable
STUPIDITY of some people; its a wonder some can cross the
road by themselves! No,REALLY! I'm not just saying this to
get my ire out,it is (removed MT content) TRUE!
May The Force Be With Us,
