Post by jimscarlet »

I used to call 2 loonies,just 2 loonies;now I've came across an alternate name;
"Carbon Units." They deserve no better,and it gives me great joy!

Ok I like non vulgar, non harsh, funny insults for truly horrible people, but I'm not getting this one. Why carbon units?

:lol:

I like organic organ, which I nicked from Terry Pratchett. And ugly bags of mostly water, which is from Star Trek. Mostly I just swear a lot.

Me I am a fan of 'toxic sludge'.

I know really mean but unfortunately sometimes apt..

Carbon units can be the middle phase before toxic sludge... ;-)

@ Booklover I think Jimscarlet is talking about carbon pollution right? respeonsible for Climate emergency, it also brings to mind the dodgy deals made to create carbon credits. So a kind of license to buy up air pollution but do nothing about it... or Jimscarlet, do you mean that we are carbon based life? And just sort of reducing people to organic matter?

Ah ok, I like it.
I like the idea of absurd insults like "he's a total donut" or "an absolute turnip" meant for truly horrible people. Something about the contradiction between the lightness of the insult contrasting with the severity of the messed up behaviour cracks me up.
Not that that insulting those kinds of people is a good idea under any circumstance.

Sometimes there's nothing else to do but pretend for a second that it's all just a joke to ease the load for a bit. At least like that I get a grin out of it. Don't know if that counts as denial, unhealthy dissociation or healthy coping.

What I do that I think is healthy is finding stuff on the internet that really makes me laugh, like cramping up laughing. I laugh so little nowadays, and it's so cathartic to laugh until you have to hold your stomach and tears come out of the eyes. As long as there's not too much time wasted surfing aimlessly, and of course there's not that many things that can make me laugh like that.

Stray thought: has anyone else observed that most of the funniest people are REALLY angry, actually?
