Hello

Post by DiTalks » Thu Mar 12, 2020 12:52 am

Hello,

I joined over a week ago, but am now just getting around to introducing myself. I'm not sure how detailed to be, but if this is to offer support to those who lived through abuse, then it’s for me.

I’ve been dealing with such things for some time now in therapy, and have a very good non-abusive support system, which is of course very helpful. However, I’ve found that despite having one of the best therapists in the area, and a very supportive partner, I would like to connect to others who would understand in ways that those people (mentioned above) in my life cannot.

And I of course, hope to learn some things.

Welcome DiTalks,
This certainly sounds like the place you're looking for. Somewhere that people seem to understand and get the effects of abuse and the work of healing.

Thanks to all who responded to my initial post with such warm and reassuring words. I'm very appreciative, and quite glad that I joined what appears to be a very well ran message board.

Welcome DiTalks

You can be as detailed as you need to be. Just use the trigger warnings so others can choose to read or not, depending on how they're doing. There will always be somebody who is ready to sit and listen.
