This is a reminder that Jonesy and the entire moderating team are here to support a safe and healing environment at isurvive. Below you will find helpful hints to help ensure your own safety while interacting here.

Helpful Hints for Members

Safety
• As a member of isurvive it is your responsibility to keep yourself safe.
• Know what to do if you get triggered while on site; we strongly recommend that you have a personalized safety plan in place, including 3D (real life) resources.
• As stated in our terms and conditions, isurvive is a peer place of support and not a place of treatment or therapy. We do not and cannot offer care or treatment.
• We cannot guarantee anyone’s safety on this site nor verify members are who they represent to be. The internet can be dangerous. Even though this is a protected forum, be cautious and diligent regarding your safety and privacy.
As stated in the Guidelines, posting external urls or emails to other members is not permitted on the forums or in chat.
If you wish for information to be passed to another member; please contact the Director, Jonesy, directly.

• Be mindful that moderators are here to help monitor and support when necessary. They are not therapists and are not here to give care, advice or management. It is up to each member to care for themselves and, if there is crisis, seek outside 3D support.

Posting and Board Access
• All members are not restricted to any specific forum on the boards.
• If using the chat room, leave the area if it is not appropriate or safe for you.
• Be mindful of trigger indicators and use them appropriately.
• You can talk about difficult feelings, thoughts or memories, just be mindful when posting on safe NT stickies and on other members’ threads.

Specific Notes to Members with Dissociative Youngers/Littles
• We strongly recommend that you be protective of your younger ones as they can be vulnerable, easily influenced and targets of abusers. That is one of the main reasons we have set up the password protected, and closely monitored, Dissociative Youth Forum and its sub-forums.
• Please know that other members may be triggered by responses by younger ones on their threads. If another member asks you not to reply please don’t take it personally and try to understand that just like you, members are allowed to try to keep themselves safe and not triggered.
• If using the chat room, we ask that you make aware who is present to other members and leave the area if it is not appropriate or safe for you or any of your team.
• It is okay for your team’s older ones or bigs to help with your spelling, posting and keeping you company on the forums.

Helpful ways to deal with conflict and triggering situations on site

• You can gently ask a member to not use specific words in response to you if they are causing you harm
• If you feel harmed by someone on the boards, you can choose not to interact and respectively ask for the same consideration from that person
• You can leave the thread
• You can log-off until you are better able to handle the situation
• You can email Jonesy for support and assistance

These are simply reference hints that we hope you will find helpful. If you ever need additional assistance, please see our guidelines (http://www.isurvive.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2887) and you can always make direct contact by email.
