Quoting Material and Copyright Laws
isurvive's current policy:
Please know that song lyrics are fully copyrighted material. You will find legal info and discussions about using lyrics both online and in print and they are protected in full (unless public domain) and many warnings can be found about using them (as well as ways to seek permission). Song titles are not protected and can be used.
We realise this may seem over cautious to some but please refer to the following suggestions when using copyrighted material in your posts.
isurvive's current policy:
We have been further researching this area and it remains our understanding that quoting should be brief as to protect users and isurvive from breaching any copyright laws. Please keep copyright restrictions in mind when making any references to books, songs, articles, poetry or other pieces of material. Share only references or brief quotes that qualify under copyright and fair use laws. Limit your brief quotation to the minimum necessary to make your point and always include the full copyright references (author, title, publisher, year, page or artist, song, album, producer, year). This will also allow those interested to view an excerpt in its full copyrighted and protected context if they choose.

The song Help! is really what I relate to right now. I'm feeling very alone and insecure. You can find it: Help! by the Beatles, Album: single/Help!, George Martin, 1965
The book, Courage to Heal has be very helpful to me. On page 173 the author shares about Resolution and Stabilizing in the healing process. I really like and can relate to this statement: "Authentic moving on is a natural result of going through each step of the healing process. It comes slowly and sometimes take you by suprise." The Courage to Heal (3rd Addition), Ellen Bass and Laura Davis, HarperCollins Publishers, 1994.

Guidelines Update Announcement - 6th December 2015
Hi everyone
Following a discussion among the Board members, an addition has been made to our Guidelines and can be found on the first page;
"As an anonymous site our priority is to provide a safe forum – we have extremely limited ability to act in a meaningful way should we suspect that a minor may be in danger. Site leadership would attempt to do what they could within their limited means."

Re: Guideline Update Announcements
Hi everyone,
There have been a couple updates to our Guidelines.
Firstly, the Admin Support email address has been changed from isurvive@hush.com to admin@isurvive.org.
Secondly, after deliberation we have decided to clarify the use of trigger warnings to ensure understanding and consistency.
• merely mentioning a triggering topic is NT
• providing some detail would make it MT
• graphic detail would make it ST
The responsibility of selecting the appropriate trigger warning lies with each member who posts and are to help ensure the safety of other members reading posts. The moderating team have the responsibility of making a judgement call if they feel a post is not showing the correct trigger warning and making any appropriate amendment.

Re: Guideline Update Announcements
Hi everyone
Please be aware that the Chat Guidelines have been updated to include a section on general etiquette as outlined below.
We hope this will assist in making all feel welcomed:
• Please remember that chatting online is a different form of communication. Therefore, it is important to carry on your chat as you would if you were sitting face-to-face with someone. When you’re ready to participate introduce yourself, just like you would when meeting people in a “real” 3D setting
• Please be alive to online safety. Don’t get too personal. Never use your real name or reveal any personal information in our chat room. Do not ask others for their personal details
• Please know that the use of profanity can be triggering to others
• Please be mindful that slang and texting shortcuts may be unfamiliar to others in the room, so be prepared to offer explanations
• Please try to engage everyone present and be a great listener as well as an active participant
• Please let others know you are leaving by saying ‘good bye’, as you would in person
• If you need to be away from chat for any length of time, we respectfully request that you log out rather than have Members wonder why you’re not responding
• It is vital that you are the only person using your login details. Failure to comply will result in an automatic suspension
Please read the full revision here: http://isurvive.org/join-our-forum/chat-guidelines/
Thanks - your continued use of the isurvive chat room will be an acceptance of/ agreement with these changes.

Re: Guideline Updates
Hi everyone,
Please know that the Forum Guidelines have been updated to include a section as follows:
Responding to Others
• When replying to a post, please take time to ensure your response is directed to the owner (original poster) and not to another member. This ensures the owner of the thread receives more targeted support and that the conversation does not veer in a different direction
• When replying to comments from other members on your own thread, please take time to acknowledge each one, either collectively or individually, to be sure everyone feels included and that their words were valued by you
• If you experience negative emotions from something you read; please take time to reflect before responding, to ensure your reply is appropriate
It can be found at the end of SECTION 3: POSTING https://isurvive.org/join-our-forum/for ... s/#Posting
Your continued use of isurvive.org will be seen as an acceptance of/ agreement with these changes.
