Notre Dame fire

I know it is not child abuse related but just wondered if anyone else was shocked and upset my the news tonight.

It is such a important part of Paris. Hope they can save as much as possible of this lovely building and all the artwork inside.

Yes, im upset, saddened by this too. When i was lil, i lived w my gfolx in paris. & while not religous, we often went to notre dame, just to bask & marvel in its glory. Such beauty, & such history to that building. Im esp upset overthestained glass. The artist in me cries. & ithink notre dame is so much more than 'just' a church. For myself, cant really explain it. Sumtin deeper is/was touched. I equate notre dame w redwoods, the mona lisa, things like tthat. When in their presence, their sphere, yer aware of whats sacred - if anything is. It kinda quiets ya, makes ya aware of how small ya really are in thegrand scheme-a things, inna good way, a comforting way. I wanna donate to the restoration fund. Sayin 'prayers' forthe french, & yes, for the catholics too, tonite.
