How to edit/delete posts?

Hi, I hope it's ok to post this here, I can't find a forum that would be more appropriate and I haven't heard back from a message I sent Jonesy a couple days ago, so I hope there's an admin here who can help me.

I want to edit one of my past posts, or possibly delete it entirely (for some reason song lyrics I posted were edited to have only three verses and the rest of the lyrics deleted, I don’t know why, there was no cursing or triggers in it, and I don’t want the song up if it’s only a couple verses as it would ruin the story I’m trying to tell) but try as I might I can’t see where to edit my post! I tried searching the boards, and reading the FAQ, and still I cannot figure it out. Can someone help? I really want to edit it because I don’t want my song to stay up anymore when it’s been chopped up like that, and the thought of anyone reading what's left and not knowing the rest of the words I put my heart and soul into has been giving me anxiety. :( so I'd rather take it down.

thanks. if this post shouldn’t be here maybe an admin could move it, or just message me?

EDIT: I just noticed that the tools for editing *this* post were easy to find. So apparently Jonesy removed my ability to edit? Can an admin please please delete my past post for me then? :(

Hi anneofgreengables,

The ability for members to edit their posts only lasts for a short time, which is why you were able to see the "edit" button on this post, but not on the older post that you are talking about. That is just the way our forum's system works. Please look for an email from me.

With care,
Serenity

Hi anneofgreengables

In response to your post, I would like to point out that it hasn't even been 24 hours since you sent me that email.
Much as I love isurvive, it may surprise you to know that, in addition to world time differences, I can't be around 24/7 and that I do have other priorities.
I am away from home this weekend and am sorry I haven't been able to attend to your request in a timely manner, even though this edit was made over 2 weeks ago. I apologise if it seems I was over cautious in being mindful of copyright laws - I am only ever looking out for the good of the site. However I will ensure your thread is deleted without further delay, as per your request, because I certainly did not intend to cause you harm.

In addition? I did not remove your ability to edit posts.
Members can only make their own edits within a 24 hour window of posting.
