Hi friends! I'm a newbie. :D

I'm sharing with you guys the one of my fave songs. It just puts the smile on my face whenever I hear it. So here it goes. ;)

"Smile"
by Nat King Cole

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you

And the water on my hands are tears from long ago

Yes I defiantly agree Music does help me a lot and I almost always have my headphones in but I think one of my favourite peices has to be "leaving earth" but my favourite song is Wasteland By Woodkid (for those of you who don't know him you may recognise his other song "run boy run")

Am finding playing marches by De Sousa and other composers in my head whilst walking very helpful.

I get to places faster with apparently less effort.

Hi,

I'm new here (first post!) and I have to say that it is music which gets me through difficult days. I've only just decided to seek help after a particularly difficult but unrelated life event and that huge step means my head is just filled with all manner of mixed thoughts. Consequently, I've found that music pushes out all that stuff just enough to feel in control and focus. I have two playlists, the one for bad days when I just want to wallow in misery and the other for when the more objective me is in residence.
One song in particular features on both lists:

First Aid Kit - My Silver Lining (Stay Gold, 2014)

It has an awesome tune and some great lines, in particular the references to not taking the easy road, reminding me that the coming months are all going to be worth it even if it's going to be a tough journey.

Happy listening

hi i have been here a long time and never visited this thread...odd bc i am a total music lover. music is the best therapy there is sometimes!
lately i have gotten into a song from the 1973 rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar called "Everything's Alright" sung by Yvonne Elliman. i used to sing parts of it to my children when they were small especially when they were sick or upset. they both remember it well, they always called it the "try not to get worried" song. recently i found it on u-tube and my now young adult kids heard it and got so excited!
now i listen to it and it helps calm me and all my younger parts too.

another piece that i find totally uplifting is Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. i am listening to it now and it is wonderful. i am not much of a classical music fan but this is truly inspiring.

One that works for me, though not exactly uplifting, is Water's Edge by SevenMaryThree.
